Angora — scan a business card, get a contact
Scanning a card
Hold the card inside the on-screen frame and tap the shutter. It reads either way round — lengthways or standing on its end — and holding the card in your hand works as well as laying it flat.
If a field comes back wrong or blank, tap it and type. Angora leaves anything it could not read empty rather than guessing, so a blank field means "check this", not "this is right".
In poor light, tap LIGHT to turn the torch on while you frame.
Saving to your contacts
Cards are saved to your phone's own address book, in whichever contacts account your phone uses by default — Google, iCloud or another. You can see or change that in your phone's settings.
To save somewhere else just once, tap Choose a different account and pick it in the sheet your phone shows.
If someone is already in your contacts, Angora tells you rather than adding them twice. It only treats two people as the same when the name and an email match.
Scanning several at once
Switch to MULTI and the app stays on the camera between cards, collecting them in a queue. Tap the counter to review them, then save them all at once.
On the CARDS tab, SELECT lets you pick several and share them in a single message — useful for passing a stack of leads to someone after an event.
Your own card
The MY CARD tab turns your details into a QR code anyone can scan with their plain camera app — they need no app of their own. It is free, forever, whether or not you buy anything.
Angora Pro & purchases
Angora is free to try for 10 scans. Angora Pro unlocks unlimited scanning with a single one-time purchase — there is no subscription.
New phone, or reinstalled? Open Settings and tap Restore purchase. Your unlock follows the Apple ID or Google account you bought it with.
Privacy & your data
Cards are read on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and there is no server holding your contacts — because there is no server at all.
Read the full Privacy Policy.
Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Contacts you already saved stay in your address book, where they belong to you.
