Starred items keep their number

Is Cubby free?

Free for 14 days, then $12 once. No subscription. One purchase covers three Macs, and nothing is deleted if the trial ends.

Is there a subscription?

No. $12 is the whole price, and updates are included.

Does it need an account or an internet connection?

No account, no sync, no analytics. Cubby works fully offline. The only request it makes is checking for a new version.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel.

How is Cubby different from Paste or Maccy?

Maccy is a free clipboard history. Paste adds iPhone sync, for $29.99 a year or $89.99 lifetime. Cubby is one $12 purchase, and besides clipboard history it takes screenshots, records the screen, makes GIFs and reads text off the screen, all into the same history, one keystroke away.

Can I paste several screenshots at once?

Yes. Hold Shift and use the arrow keys to pick a run of screenshots, GIFs or recordings, then press Return. They paste one after another, in order.

Can it turn a screen recording into a GIF?

Yes. Record with Shift and right Option, trim the clip if you want, then press ⌘G. The GIF pastes into Slack, email or a pull request like a picture.

Why does it ask for Accessibility and Screen Recording?

Accessibility lets Cubby press ⌘V for you, so a digit pastes straight into the app you were in. Screen Recording is what macOS requires for any screenshot or recording. The microphone is only asked for if you turn your voice on for a recording.

Is there a Windows version?

It is being written now, as its own app rather than a port. Right Ctrl will do what right ⌘ does on the Mac.
